Monkey 1st Birthday

My precious niece, Claire turned 1 on January 7 and in honor of her birthday, my sister and brother-in-law threw a monkey-themed party this past Saturday. It was a lot of fun helping my sister, Katie pin and plan all the little details, so naturally I just had to make the trip from Pennsylvania to execute them.

Claire has been a crazy little monkey since she could barely crawl, so it only seemed appropriate to plan her 1st birthday party around the cute little primate (a monkey, not Claire). We hung some of Claire's monkey friends from a dowel rod along-side some DIY tissue-paper balls, strung streamers across the stage to create a jungle (which the kids had a blast running through and then eventually tearing down), and incorporated some pink zebra print in the balloons and table decor.

The monkey-theme party also featured veggies & dip displayed in plastic cups (an easy and germ-free alternative), chocolate-dipped banana pops, banana-nut cheerios for the little ones, delicious monkey bread made by Claire's meme, and festive chocolate and vanilla cup-cakes. It was a bit hit with both the kids and the parents - and although Claire might be too little to remember the day, she'll have plenty of pictures to look back on.

Winter Wedding Pinterest Favorites

I truly admire those who brace the freezing temperatures to tie the knot in the winter and can't help but to gush over pictures of couples standing in the snow on their wedding day. There's just something so utterly romantic and beautiful about saying "I do" on a chilly, snowy day.

I've found myself pinning a lot of winter wedding pins on the KM Music Productions Pinterest board lately, and thought I'd share a few of my favorites. Click here to see the full board.

Happy Halloween

Even though trick-or-treating has been postponed in our township this year due to hurricane Sandy, we're just grateful that our house was unharmed and our electricity is back on. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who are still without power and have suffered damage and loss over the past few days. And to everyone else celebrating this evening, we hope we have a fun and safe Halloween!

Vendor Spotlight: Brae Howard Photography

A few months ago, Kyle and I met up with the fabulous and extremely talented Brae Howard to get some portraits taken for our site and the blog. When creating our website and revamping the "That's the Plan," we knew we needed some high quality, professional pictures and contacted Brae immediately to set something up!

We first met Brae at a friend's wedding in August of last year, which she photographed, Kyle DJ'ed and I decorated. We were blown away by not only her talent, but her fun-loving and friendly personality. We highly recommend Brae Howard Photography for your wedding in the Philadelphia area!

Be sure to check out our website for more pictures!

Fall Weddings

It's officially fall. The temperatures have started to drop, the leaves are beginning to change, and pumpkins and mums can be spotted on almost every front porch and farm stand. There is just something so romantic about the cooler weather and colorful trees - a truly perfect backdrop for a wedding. Serve your guests cider, cut pie instead of cake, or incorporate soft creams and deep wine colors for a beautiful fall wedding day.

A Really "FUN" Remix

Some popular radio hits are great to listen to when you're in the car, but they don't exactly get the crowd moving at a wedding or birthday party. At KM Music Productions, we love to use remixes of a few of today's top tunes at our events to get people out on the dance floor and our clients and their guests love it!

The band Fun's "We Are Young" Remix by Alvin Risk is at the top of our playlist. We'll be posting a list of all of our favorite remixes soon, but in the meantime, check out this video and let us know what you think! (You may have to go over to youtube.com to watch the video).

Leah & Andrew's Wedding by Elizabeth Horne Photography

Over Labor Day weekend, KM Music Productions took the "show" on the road and headed to Massachusetts for the wedding of Leah and Andrew Prats. Kyle DJ'ed the beautiful affair in the open-air pavilion at historic Plimouth Plantation, with a view of a marsh and the ocean just on the horizon.

The Bride and Groom danced together to Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat's "Lucky" and all of their guests later joined them on the dance floor for a night of fun. Congrats to Leah and Andrew - we're so glad we were able to be part of your special day!
